Storage & Downgrade Policy
How PetMate handles cloud storage limits, subscription downgrades, and media retention.

Downgrade behaviour
When a Plus subscription ends or is cancelled, the following applies immediately:
- All structured pet data remains fully accessible.
- New file uploads are blocked if your cloud storage exceeds the 500 MB Free plan limit.
- Existing photos and documents remain accessible during a 90-day grace period.
- You can download, delete, or manage your files at any time during the grace period.
- Upgrading back to Plus restores your full 10 GB quota immediately.

Media retention after grace period
If a user has not resolved excess storage by the end of the 90-day grace period, PetMate may remove excess cloud media. This applies only when:
- The account storage still exceeds the Free plan limit.
- The user has not upgraded back to Plus.
- The user has not reduced storage usage below 500 MB.
Structured pet data is never affected by media retention actions. Health records, reminders, and all text-based data remain intact indefinitely.
